HATESPHERE Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement
September 3, 2007Danish thrashers HATESPHERE have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Heinz [Henrik Jacobsen; guitar] is no longer part of HATESPHERE. The decision was made long time ago, and we have therefore known it for a long time. There is no bad blood in the split — Heinz simply doesn't like the touring part of music anymore. So we want to thank him for a great time in the band and wish him the best of luck in the future.
"No need to worry as we have found a more than fitting replacement. Jakob [Nyholm] from fellow Danish metallers DAWN OF DEMISE and KOLDBORN is taking over the guitar duty in the band immediately. We have known Jakob for a long time, and we are looking forward to finally hitting the big stages with him! Welcome to the band! Your first chances to see him in action will be on our upcoming tours with BEHEMOTH and DIMMU BORGIR. Jakob has already played a show in Essen, Germany with us — watch the video below."
Heinz has issued the following statement on the matter:
"[On] August 25 I played my last show with HATESPHERE at the Elsrock Festival in Holland. The reason that I'm leaving HATESPHERE after 5-plus years of hard work and boozin' fun on the road is simply that it's time for me to try new things in life. It was probably one of the hardest decisions I ever took, but I know that this is the right choice for me and the band. Life is all about being true to yourself and do what you love doing right now. My time in HATESPHERE has given me so many great moments with the guys in the band and all the people who believe in us and came to our shows during the past five years. So a big cheers and thank you to all the bands I've toured with, all you fans who came out to join the party with us, but most of all to my friends Bredahl, Pepe, Mixen, Gyldenøhr, Mikael, Dennis, Mads, Tue, Rasmus and Tolderen for all the good times we've shared on the road and in the studio."
HATESPHERE recently parted ways with drummer Anders Gyldenøh and bassist Mikael Ehlert. Replacing them in the group's current lineup are Dennis Buhl and Mixen Lindberg, respectively.
HATESPHERE entered the national chart in its home country at position No. 26 with the group's latest release, "Serpent Smiles and Killer Eyes". The CD was mixed by Tue Madsen at Antfarm studios in Århus, Denmark.
